Stayed Mar 21-29, 2017. Been camping here for many years and always enjoyed it. This was different. Upon checking in, we were handed a two page "new" list of rules containing also monetary fines for, quite frankly, some of the most ignorant things that anyone who has ever camped in their life would already know. TWO PAGES, one devoted entirely to listing the fines. Asinine, but not to government employees. The most disturbing thing however was that the showers and toilet facilities were maybe cleaned once during our 8 day stay, and believe me, you could tell. Paper towels scattered in sinks and on the floors. Disgusting toilets, absolutely disgusting, no description necessary. It seems they have a new cleaning service that shows up when they feel like it. The park hosts I have no opinion on, they were just doing their job. The camp location and sites are perfect for my style camping, but with no on site sewage, showering in the facilities is a must, but I wouldn't have washed a goat in that place. Don't know what is going on, except that the incompetent COE must have a new local boss trying to show that they are doing something by coming up with these rules and fines, when in fact all they are doing is insulting a normal camper's intelligence, and pissing a lot of people off.
Currently at this "campground." We have currently been warned about a noise violation for a site we paid for. We have music, and four people were laughing. It's 1030 at night. The people across the street are definitely being more obnoxious than we are, but were they warned? No. Also the grounds keepers keep creeping by our site, I guess waiting for us to be "loud" again. I guess having a good time isn't allowed at this ridiculous excuse for a campground.
Been camping at alot of various spots at whitetail and havent had a problem. Seems to be about the nicest and cleanest camp grounds on the lake. Never had an issue. Only complaint is we just stayed at site 55 and wished the weeds were cleaned out for better access to the lake, also excessive amount of debris has floated back in there with the high waters (lumber, plastic bottles, tennis balls, general trash) and there about a 3 ft snake swimming through the debris early this morning before we left. Would like to see the core clean some of that up to prevent snakes and rodents in the camp areas. Other that is a great campground.
Clean, family oriented. Only drawback is it isn't open year round and there is no sewage on the sites.
Great place to rvcamp and enjoy nature
